I started with a few designs, but the one pictured here is the one that spoke to me the most. Wedding gifts are a tricky thing. Sure you can go into a store and purchase something off the shelf, but I prefer to try to gift something that is unique but functional as well. In this case I also wanted to make something for the Groom and his bride, something extra special. I used the letter O as the location for a tea light. Doing so drove the flow of the other letters. I’ve matched the slate with a white tea light to create a modern functional piece using a very old technique of hand letter carving – something that dates back to Roman times. This piece has been carved in Brazilian slate. Size: 7″ x 4.5″
